Etsy fees vs take-home calculator
Etsy takes its fees from the whole order, shipping included, before the money reaches your bank. Enter the listing price, quantity, shipping you charged and shipping you paid, plus Offsite Ads if the order came through one, and the calculator splits the order into fees, shipping profit or loss, and what you actually keep. It runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Defaults: a $28 listing, quantity 1, $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction, 3% plus $0.25 payment processing, $5 shipping charged, $4 shipping cost, Offsite 0. Fees total $3.59 and take-home is $25.42. The fee defaults are Etsy's US rates for a US bank account; fees checked October 2026.

One order: listing, fees, shipping
The fee fields start at Etsy's US rates for a US bank account (fees checked October 2026). Processing rates differ by country, and Etsy changes fees, so edit any field that doesn't match your Fees and Payments page.

Bank deposit ≠ sale price. The listing price is what the buyer saw for the item. Fees come out before the deposit, and the shipping you charged mostly goes on the label. Use take-home, not the listing, when you decide if the order was worth it.
How the math works
- Fee base = listing price × quantity + shipping charged to the buyer.
- Fees = listing fee per unit × quantity + transaction % of fee base + payment % of fee base + payment fixed fee + Offsite % of fee base (if any).
- Shipping profit or loss = shipping charged − your postage cost.
- Take-home = fee base − fees total − your postage cost. (Product materials are not subtracted here — use a costing sheet for that.)
Etsy fees used here
Fees checked October 2026.
Etsy's fees and payments policy sets a $0.20 listing fee, renewed when the item sells, and a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap. Etsy Payments processing in the US is 3% + $0.25 for a US bank account, charged on the total sale including shipping and sales tax, and the rate varies by country. This calculator leaves sales tax out of the base, so where tax is collected on an order the real processing fee runs a few cents higher. A 2.5% currency conversion fee also applies when your listing currency differs from your payout currency.
The Offsite Ads fee is 15% if your shop made under $10,000 in the past 365 days and 12% once it reaches $10,000. Etsy checks monthly, a shop at 12% stays at 12%, and the fee per order never exceeds $100.

Questions
Why is my bank deposit smaller than the sale price?
Because Etsy takes listing, transaction and payment processing fees before the money reaches you, and Offsite Ads can take another cut on that order. The listing price is what the buyer paid for the item; the deposit is what is left after fees (and after shipping you may have already paid for). This calculator shows that gap on one order.
Are the default fees Etsy's real rates?
They match Etsy's published US rates as of October 2026: a $0.20 listing fee, renewed each time an item sells; a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap; and payment processing of 3% + $0.25 for a US bank account, charged on the total sale including shipping and sales tax. Processing rates vary by country, a 2.5% currency conversion fee applies when your listing currency differs from your payout currency, and Etsy can change any of these, so check your own Fees and Payments page and edit the fields.
Does this include Offsite Ads?
Optionally. Enter the Offsite Ads percentage that applies to that order (15% if your shop made under $10,000 in the past 365 days, 12% once it reaches $10,000, with the fee per order capped at $100). Leave it at 0 for an organic order. For a saved price ladder across organic, Offsite and Share & Save, use the free Offsite scenario spreadsheet.
What about my product cost / COGS?
This page focuses on fees, shipping and take-home from the order total. Materials and labour belong in a costing sheet — start with the free cost-to-make and markup template, or the Seller Back-Office Kit when you want costing, stock and invoices on one list.
Is this tax advice?
No. It is order arithmetic. What you owe and what you can deduct depend on where you sell and how you are set up, which is a question for your accountant.
