Set it up

  1. Import or open the file.
  2. Put your real rates on Rates reference (from the freelance pricing calculator).
  3. Fill Quote for one project; export that tab as PDF.

Questions

Does it work in Excel?

Yes. Shared formulas only. Import into Google Sheets or open the .xlsx in Excel.

Where does the hourly rate come from?

From you. The floor or recommended rate from the free freelance pricing calculator is a good source, because it is built from what you need to earn.

Can I export a PDF?

Print or export the Quote tab only. In Google Sheets: File, Download, PDF and choose current sheet.

Is this a contract?

No. It is a quote one-pager with scope bullets, totals and deposit. Use a contract your lawyer likes for the legal side.

What about tax set-aside?

Build tax into your hourly rate with the pricing calculator, and park cash with the free tax set-aside sheet after you get paid.
